Skylark : a small brown bird, somewhat larger than a sparrow but smaller than a starling. It is streaky brown with a small crest, which can be raised when the bird is excited or alarmed, and a white-sided tail.
Skylarking : to fool around or act astranged also to gallivant or to commit tom foolery or shenanigans.
Leicester Lo-Fi have combined the two and have asked their members to put together a photography exhibition about birds, with one catch – no cameras allowed.
Digging through the history of photography, and with plenty of darkroom shenanigans, some very old techniques have been unearthed to create these flights of fancy.
Exhibited:
29th April – 1st May – O2 – Leicester; handmade Festival
